The Kanyakumari district lies at the meeting point of three bodies of water bordered by southwest the Laccadive Sea, Western Coastal Plains and Eastern Coastal Plains. Kanyakumari has been a great centre for art and religion for centuries. One of the most interesting places to go in India is the city of Kanyakumari. There are several places of tourist-interest in the town and the district. Many temples, churches, religious pillars and statues are still inviting the people. Religions like Christianity, Islam or Hinduism easily identifiable. The district has the best literacy rate in the state.

The other attracting places are Mathur Hanging Bridge, Sitharal Jain Monuments, Udayagiri Fort, Olakaruvi Falls, Keeriparai mountain water, Kanyakumari Beach, Muttom beach and Red mud landslides, Sotthavilai beach, and Herbal Mountain near Nager coil – Kanyakumari highway.

Garajonay National Park

Laurel forest covers some 70% of this park, situated in the middle of the island of La Gomera in the Canary Islands archipelago.
